The challenge

Outdated back-end CMS

Aware that the CMS was under-performing, the bank asked Influential to carry out a CMS audit. At this time, the bank’s website had the following issues:

 

• poor security for customer details
• high software maintenance costs
• lack of value for the marketing team

 

On the basis of this analysis, the bank identified key areas for improvement.

First of all, the client needed a platform that could be trusted with customers’ sensitive data. The website also needed to be easy to update and manage without reliance on IT support. And the UI was in need of an update to reflect the bank’s new brand identity.

The solution

Rebuild in Umbraco

Following the website audit, the bank engaged Influential to rebuild its CMS and implement its new web design. 

The first step was to create a like-for-like version of the client’s website in Umbraco CMS. Our portal experts began by creating new environments within Azure, followed by implementation of a platform with enhanced security. This new platform ensured that personal customer data was protected in line with industry standards.

 

We then worked with the bank’s design agency to rebuild the UI on top of the new CMS.

 

In addition, we made changes to the bank’s personal deposit account (PDA) web form to improve the user experience. A further improvement was to transform the news page into an aggregated company social media feed.

 

Finally, our software engineers successfully migrated the website content to the new Umbraco site. Our team then provided a fully managed service to ensure ongoing functionality and security.
