2023 marked our 30th anniversary since we started in 1993, leading to many happy celebrations in the office. This year has also introduced many new developments, including new software releases and the advent of mainstream AI solutions. As ever, our experts have been busy delivering and implementing solutions for our clients this year, with big projects completed and many more in the pipeline. Before showcasing Influential Software new clients, here are some headlines we’ve seen this year.

The latest news at Influential Software

AI revolution

At the start of the year, we were introduced to ChatGPT, an AI language model that become a global sensation. This was followed by many tech giants investing heavily into the new technology or announcing their own newly developed AI features within their solutions. These include Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Boomi AI, to name a few.

New Outlook tools

Microsoft continued to add new functions to Outlook, its widely used email platform. The new Scheduling Poll feature was created to bring teams together for meaningful discussion. Our resident Microsoft tech expert, Eliot, took a deep dive and wrote up some simple tips for getting started with the new tool.

Security breach in DoD

Earlier this year, a gap in a US military server operated by Microsoft left more than a terabyte of data exposed to the internet. Coincidentally, the security issue came one month after Microsoft 365 was awarded higher level government security accreditations. Read more in our blog post.

Leo was created with the aim of reducing the day-to-day regulatory burden on teams, allowing them to be more forward-focused. Our team helped them with migration challenges through Microsoft Azure and DevOps.

WaveData is a UK Pharma pricing expert that analyses market trends and produces bespoke reports for clients in the industry. We provided development services to them to improve their data entry system.

Enfinium transforms waste into energy to help power homes, businesses and the circular economy, and they are one of the largest energy from waste operators in the UK. Our SharePoint experts created a SharePoint intranet to connect their departments and teams together.

Tower Hamlets Homes is an award winning ALMO (Arm’s Length Management Organisation), delivering housing services for residents living in 21,000 homes in East London. We delivered SharePoint services to help with their document library challenges.

Gerda is a leading British doorset manufacturer with 25 years’ experience specialising in the social housing sector. We delivered a SharePoint solution to organise their documentation and improve team collaboration.

Countrystyle Recycling is a dynamic, privately owned resource management and waste recycling business. They came to us looking for a Power BI solution to improve their processes.

UK-NSI is the European manufacturing hub of Nippon Seiki, a Japanese company specialising in the supply of high-technology driver information systems to the automotive sector. Our team helped their data management challenges with a SharePoint implementation.

The Bassadone Automotive Group is one of Europe’s largest independent automotive companies, dealing primarily with vehicle sales and exports. They came to use with migration issues, which we were happy to help by introducing SharePoint to their processes.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations is the umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector in England and is also a registered charity. We delivered a fully functional intranet site using SharePoint to bring their teams together.
